Felix Zepeda Obituary

Felix R. Zepeda, a cherished soul known for his even-keeled demeanor and boundless love for his family, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2024, in Alice, Texas. Born on December 9, 1949, Felix's journey through life was one of devotion, service, and joy that touched all who knew him.

Felix's early years were shaped by the love and guidance of his parents, Anita Zepeda and Seledonio Zepeda Sr. He was a brother to Seledonio Zepeda Jr., Esperanza "Hope" Pinon, and Beatrice Tijerna, as well as his in-laws, Eduardo and Felipa Garza, all of whom preceded him in death. Their legacy of warmth and family unity lived on through Felix's daily actions and the memories they shared.

Felix’s childhood years were spent growing up in Kenedy, TX which then led him to bravely serving his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and provided him the opportunity to experience new countries and cultures all throughout the world. Felix embarked on a career working in telecommunications, a testament to his dedication to the well-being of his family. His colleagues remember him not only for his reliability but also for his quick wit and the laughter he brought to even the most challenging days.

Felix's life was a symphony of simple pleasures and profound connections. His great sense of humor was a beacon of light for his family and friends. He found solace in music, often humming along to his favorite tunes, and his love for crossword puzzles was matched only by his passion for reading. Many would find him on his porch, sitting contentedly as he took in the beauty of nature, a reminder of the serenity that he carried within himself.

The heart of Felix's world was his beloved wife, Refugia "Cooky" Zepeda. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Their daughter, Felicia Garza (Jose), and son, Kristopher "Kris" Zepeda (Crystal), were the pride of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Felix's grandchildren, Avram Martinez, Braiden Martinez, Joby Garza, and Zoey Zepeda, were the twinkle in his eye, and he reveled in their achievements and adventures.

Felix's love extended to his siblings, Robert Zepeda (Gloria), Rey Zepeda (Karen), Michael Zepeda (Rhonda), Steven Zepeda, Ralph Zepeda (Ginny), William Zepeda (Jennifer), Connie Olivio (Ruben), Sally Moncevais, and Rose Ann Garza (Roger). He was a source of strength and inspiration for them, and their bonds were unbreakable. His furry companions, Pepper and Chula, were also a source of joy and comfort, always by his side.

As the sun sets on Felix's earthly chapter, his legacy continues to shine brightly through the lives he touched. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, reunited with his parents, brother, sisters, and in-laws, in a place where music plays eternally, and laughter echoes forever.

Felix Zepeda's life was a testament to the enduring strength of the human spirit and the profound impact one person can have on the world around them. He will be remembered not only for the life he lived but also for the love he gave freely and unconditionally. Rest in peace, dear Felix, until we meet again.
