Joel Robert Cunha

Joel Robert Cunha passed away on January 15, 2018 at the age of 39. He was born on November 27, 1978 to Frederick Manuel Cunha Jr. and Maria De Rosario Mendoza Cunha in Corpus Christi, Texas. He attended Ray High School and later received his GED. Joel lived in Wisconsin with his father. He was a Cargo Specialist in the United States Army. He was a wonderful and devoted father, son, brother and uncle. He enjoyed spending time with his children and taking care of cats and dogs. He also took care of his 74 yr. old mother. He will be missed by those who know and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Cunha Jr., and his sister, Christina Maria Lebans.

Joel is survived by his mother, Maria Cunha; daughter, Jada Pearl Cunha; son, Odin Alexander Cunha; sister, Kathleen Garza; brother, Frederick Bryan Cunha; numerous nieces and nephews.

Honoring him as pallbearers will be Frederick B. Cunha, Robert Lee Garza, Bobby Lee Garza, Julian Garcia, Joe Paz, and Ralph Garcia. Honorary pallbearer will be Danny Gutierrez and Brenden Garcia.

The family will be receiving condolences on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara @ Port; Chapel services will be on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at 9:30 am at Trevino Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
