Orlando Garcia passed away on November 5, 2019 at the age of 68. He was born in Corpus Christi, TX on August 3, 1951 to Frank C. and Beatriz R. Garcia. He graduated from Foy Moody High School and then proudly served in the United States Navy.
Everyone knew Orlando had a huge heart and was always ready to help anyone in need. He loved and enjoyed a nice day by the water fishing, spending time watching movies at home with his family, and family get togethers.
When Orlando became a grandfather his passion and priorities were to be the “World’s Greatest Grandpa”. Orlando was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all whom loved and knew him.
Orlando was preceded in death by his parents, Frank C. and Beatriz R. Garcia; brother, Oscar A. Garcia; stepson, Gilbert Longoria Sr.; step-daughter, Penny Longoria; and granddaughter, Jessica Carpio.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 26 amazing years, Genoveva; daughters, Crystal Carpio and Christina Carpio; step-son, Louis Longoria; sister, Olivia Ovalle; and brothers, Jerry Garcia and Daniel Garcia. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Zackary Velasquez, Austin, Justin, and Ismael Nicholas Carpio; whom he loved and adored, and each lit up his world the day they were born.
The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port, from 5 PM to 9 PM; with a Prayer Service to begin at 7 PM. A wake will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at 8 AM at Treviño Funeral home. A funeral cortege will depart the chapel at 10:15 AM for Rite of Committal and Interment with full military honors at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
