Roberto Adan Gonzalez passed away on October 18, 2019 at the age of 88. He was a loving husband, an amazing father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Roberto proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He retired from CCAD as a Machinist and was a member of the Senior Citizen Center where he loved to play in pool tournaments. Roberto was also involved in the community; he checked on every Senior Citizen Center. He will be dearly missed by all whom knew and loved him.
Roberto was preceded in death by his parents, Adan and Porfiria Perez; brothers, George Gonzalez and Raul Gonzalez; and sister, Barbara McKenzie.
Among those left to cherish Roberto’s memories are his wife of 63 years, Dominga S. Gonzalez; sons, Robert Adan Gonzalez, Jr. (Edna), Richard A. Gonzalez (Vianey Hernandez), Roger A. Gonzalez, Ray A. Gonzalez (Melissa Lara), and Ramsey A. Gonzalez (Rachel); brothers, Rodolfo Gonzalez, Henry Gonzalez, Noe Gonzalez, and David Gonzalez; sister, Gloria Cirlos (Arturo);15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port, from 5 PM to 9 PM; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 PM. A Funeral cortege will depart the funeral chapel at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 24, 2019, to Holy Family Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30 AM. Rite of Committal and Interment with military honors will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
Honoring him as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Richard Gonzalez, Jr., Ramsey Gonzalez, Jr., Roger Gonzalez, II, Ray Gonzalez, Jr., Robert Gonzalez, III., Rodney Gonzalez, and Ryan Gonzalez.
