Romulo O. Gonzalez, Sr., born to Alvaro and Albesa N. Gonzalez, Sr. on January 28th, 1944, passed away on November 14, 2019 at the age of 75. He served in the United States National Guard and was in the oil and gas industry for over 30 years. He was married to his wife, Guadalupe, for fifty years and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Romulo was loved by everyone who knew him and will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Juan Buentello, Alvaro Gonzalez, Jr., and Reyes Gonzalez.
Left to cherish his memory is his family, wife, Guadalupe M. Gonzalez; daughters, Elizabeth Trejo (Steve), Cynthia Hinojosa (Joe), and Barbara Ann Cardenas (Daniel†) ; sons, Romulo Gonzalez, Jr., and Jaime Gonzalez (Tonya Martens); sister, Carmen Gonzalez; and numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and great-great- grandchildren.
The family will receive condolences on Saturday, November 23, 2019, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home Alice, 120 E. Front St., with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 1:00 PM. A funeral cortege will depart at 2:00 PM to New Collins Cemetery for the rite of committal and inurnment.
