Abel G. Escobar, Iii.

Abel G. Escobar, III., was called to his final resting place on June 7, 2017 at the age of 42, due to a sudden illness. He was born to Abel R. Escobar Jr. and Gloria Ann Garcia on February 27, 1975.

He is preceded in death by his sons, Abel Escobar IV and Brandon L. Escobar; sister, Glenda Y. Escobar; maternal grandparents, Santos L. Garcia and Englantina C. Garcia; paternal grandparents, Abel R. Escobar Sr., and Zulema C. Escobar; uncles, Mario M. Garcia, Edmundo Garcia, and Frank Casas.

Abel is survived by his parents, Abel R. Escobar, Jr., and Gloria A. Garcia; daughter, Jasmine Salinas; sons, Jonathan Escobar and Damian R. Escobar; sisters, Melissa (Raul) Martinez, Jennifer (Robert) Jimenez; Beloved by his aunts, Nora Escobar, Zulema (Chu-Chi) Montez, and Elvia (Vera) Martinez, who were very dear to his heart; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will be greatly missed by those he touched; he had such a loving heart and a beautiful smile.

Serving as Pall Bearers will be Juan G. Montez, Patrick L .Montez, Joe Escobar Jr., Jeremy Castillo, Robert Jimenez III., Edmundo Garcia Jr., Jonathan Garcia, and Gilbert Garcia Jr.; Serving as Honorary Pall Bearers will be Jasmine Salinas, Jonathan Escobar, Damian Escobar, Joey Rocha, and Robert Lopez.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, June 9, 2017, at Treviño Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St., from 5 to 9 in the evening; where a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Funeral cortege will depart the funeral chapel at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017, to St. Joseph Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m.

Cremation will follow.
