Adela V. Galvan

Adela V. Galvan of Corpus Christi, TX, went to be with our Heavenly Father on June 2, 2018 at 3:11 pm surrounded by her family. Adela was born on June 11, 1929 in Palau, Mexico and became a U.S. citizen in 1963. Adela was a homemaker and housewife and raised not only her children, but her grandchildren. Adela enjoyed being around her family. She loved to sew, crochet, and knit. Adela also enjoyed traveling. She was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Pilar. Adela also loved to hear the Mariachi bands play and sing to her. Adela was a devoted and loving wife of 68 years, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all whom loved her. She was preceded in death by her father, Abundio Valadez; her mother, Catalina Valadez; her sister, Julia Mendoza; and her grandson, Ryan Lekosky. She is survived by her husband, Juan A. Galvan; her children, Catalina Galvan, Beatrice (Richard) Trevino, Lucy (Bill) Lekosky, Paul (Olga) Galvan and Lorena Galvan, all of Corpus Christi, TX; her sisters, Eva Rocha and Maria Elena Jaime Valadez, both of Mexico; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. The Galvan family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude towards the considerate staff at Angel Bright Hospice of Corpus Christi for providing a compassionate environment and quality care on Adela's behalf. A special thanks to Rosalinda Perez, Olga Galvan, and Lupita Castaneda for their endless support and care of our Mother. Visitation will be held at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave, from 5 -9 pm with a rosary recited at 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pilar Church, 1101 Bloomington Street, on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 10 am. Burial service will follow at Memory Gardens.
