Agapita Loera

Agapita Loera, a beacon of kindness and love, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2024, at the age of 93. Born on December 19, 1930, in Crawford, TX, Agapita's life was a testament to her unwavering faith and the joy she found in the simplest of pleasures.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cayetano G. Luera and Luz Gonzalez. Agapita is survived by her nephews, Rudy De La Cruz, Robert De La Cruz, and Frank Luera; her nieces, Estella Martinez, Helen Chandler, Esther, and Mary Ann; her great-nieces, Hope Martinez, Faith Martinez, Bernadette De La Cruz, Eva Leyba, Lindy De La Cruz, Victoria, Veronica, and Gina; and her great-nephews, Steven Rodriguez, Eric Rodriguez, Jacob De La Cruz, along with numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Agapita dedicated many years of her life to the hotel industry where she served as a maid. Her work ethic and attention to detail were unmatched, and she took pride in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests from all walks of life. Her colleagues remember her as a pillar of strength and a source of wise counsel. Her involvement in her work community extended beyond her duties, as she was always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. She was also a loving and nurturing caretaker; a role she greatly enjoyed.

A woman of deep faith, Agapita's devotion was evident in her daily life. She found solace and strength in reading the Bible, and her faith-filled spirit was an inspiration to all who knew her. Agapita's interests reflected her love for the simple joys in life. She was an avid reader and enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles. Her hands were rarely idle, as she was often found sewing, creating beautiful pieces with her skilled fingers. In her moments of relaxation, she delighted in watching novelas, becoming immersed in their unfolding dramas.

In honor of Agapita's life, her family will gather in remembrance and thanksgiving. We take solace in the fact that she has been reunited with her beloved parents and is now at peace. Agapita's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us all.

As the sun sets on a life so beautifully lived, we bid a fond farewell to Agapita Loera, a true embodiment of faith, kindness, and love. Her light will never fade from the lives she illuminated, and her memory will forever be a guiding star for those she leaves behind. Rest in peace, dear Agapita. Your story is one of grace, and it will be told with love for generations to come.
