Alberto "Jesse" Jesus Reyes

Alberto "Jesse" Jesus Reyes, 45, passed away on January 1, 2014 after a valiant fight against cancer. Jesse was a loving husband, father, and brother. He was a peaceful, gentle man who loved spending time with his family. Jesse was very passionate about music; his joy was playing his guitar and teaching his children how to play music and sports. During his lengthy stay at MD Anderson he continued to work on his college degree and received his Bachelors of Science from Liberty University. Jesse leaves behind his loving wife, Elysa King; son, Jesse James Reyes; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Reyes; step-sons, Ian Thurman Hilton and Broderick Reed Hilton; step-daughter, Jillian Nicole Hilton; his brother, Jerry Reyes and Jerry's wife Lisa Reyes; his nieces and nephews, Lauryn Reyes, Christian Reyes, Lina Reyes and Jerry Reyes, and his parents-in-law John and Elizabeth King. Jesse proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army; he was honorably discharged after almost ten years of service, when he returned to his native Corpus Christi. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alberto Reyes and Minerva Oropez, his maternal grandparents, Gilberto and Adelina Oropez; and his paternal grandparents, Joe and Mary Reyes. He will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held at Trevino Funeral Home 3006 Niagara at Port on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 am.
