Alejandro Garza, born on December 8, 1959, in San Diego, TX, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, in Alice, TX. The news of his passing brings great sorrow to those who knew and cherished him, yet it also calls forth a gentle celebration of the life he so generously shared with family and friends.

Alejandro was a son, a father, a brother, and above all, a devoted member of a loving family, who filled their lives with quiet strength, deep compassion, and the warmth of countless shared moments. He is survived by his beloved mother, Luz S. Rodriguez; his devoted daughters, Sarah Michelle Garza, Stephanie Garza, and Jaylee Rivera; his caring sons, Alejandro Daniel Garza and Christoper Campos; his cherished sisters, Hermelinda “Melly” Deleon, Sandra (Edward) Ordonez, and Daisy (Alfonso) Gomez; his steadfast brother, Joe (Catherine) Garza; and his precious grandchildren, Ezekiel Garza and Elias Garza. In addition to his immediate family, Alejandro leaves behind a close-knit extended family of aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces, all of whom were touched by his kindness and example.

Alejandro’s family wishes to honor the memory of dear Geronimo Garza, his late father, whose influence on Alejandro’s life was lasting and profound. His daughter Samantha Campos; his sister, Esmeralda Garza Rivera; and his brother, Jerry Garza, also preceded him in death.

Those who spent any time with Alejandro will forever remember his many passions. With hands skilled in the kitchen, he found joy in baking and cooking for loved ones, transforming simple ingredients into moments of delight around the dinner table. The glow of his record player often filled his home with the golden melodies of oldies music, while his appreciation of movies created many nights of laughter, reflection, and togetherness. Alejandro also had a fascination for dragons and loved watching Batman.

Alejandro’s curiosity knew no bounds; he had a fascination and talent for electronics, always eager to solve the latest puzzle or repair a beloved gadget. He tended his rose garden with careful attention, nurturing blooms that reflected his own gentle spirit. Animals held a special place in his heart — goats, horses, and chickens were not just creatures to Alejandro, but companions that added daily peace and joy to his life.

Alejandro’s presence—steady, uplifting, and true—leaves an indelible mark on all who knew him. The richness of his character will continue to live on in the stories shared by those he held dear, in family gatherings filled with laughter and music, and in the quiet blooming of roses, year after year.

Friends and family are invited to express their condolences during visitation on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Treviño Funeral Home Alice, 120 E. Front St., from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM that evening. Visitation will continue Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 8:00 AM until 9:30 PM, at Treviño Funeral Home Alice. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 9:30 AM to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church to celebrate Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Old San Diego Cemetery at 11:30 AM with Military Honors where Alejandro will be laid to rest in the peace of Christ.

Honoring Alejandro as pallbearers are Peter Rivera, Ricky Mallett, Adalberto Ponce, Nathan Hawks, Joe Garza, and David Ibanez. Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Garza and Joel Trigo.
