Alice Vela(Amparon)

Alice Vela (Amparon), a cherished matriarch and beacon of love and resilience, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, at the age of 100 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on June 22, 1924, in Mission, Texas, Alice's life was a century-long testament to the strength and warmth of her spirit. Alice was the heart of her family, a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her loving son, Richard Herman Amparon and his wife Connie, along with a legacy of numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who were the recipients of her endless love and support. Her life was a beautiful story of connection and care, which will be carried on through the generations she has touched. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Inocencia Villarreal, her beloved husband, Jesus C. Vela, and her five sisters, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Throughout her working years, Alice was a dedicated employee at Christus Spohn Shoreline in the dietary department. She also brought her warm smile and diligent work ethic to various department stores as a clerk. Her colleagues knew her as a woman of great reliability and kindness, someone who brought light into every room she entered. Alice's passions extended beyond her professional life. She was an avid football fan, sharing countless memorable moments watching Dallas Cowboys games with her son. These moments were not just about the sport but about the laughter, cheers, and camaraderie that came with each game. Alice's love for her family shone brightest when it came to her grandchildren. She played an integral role in their upbringing, imparting wisdom, values, and the kind of unconditional love that shapes lives.

In her 8 years living with her son, she had companionship, love, and care. The family would like to thank her three granddaughters, Tajia, Talia, Marisol, and numerous workers from Century Hospice and Corpus Christi Nursing and Rehab. Specifically, social worker from Century Hospice, Liza Dibble . As we bid farewell to Alice Vela, we celebrate a century of memories, a life well-lived, and a woman whose presence was a gift to all who knew her. Her journey may have come to a close, but her story will be told for generations, a narrative of love that never truly ends.

The pallbearers will be Nathan Zapata, Michael Amparon, Issac Galvan, Joe Trevino, Raul Benavides, and Antonio Amparon.
