Alicia Anzaldua AKA Mary Alice Anzaldua, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away on February 12, 2024, in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 67. Born on March 8, 1956, in Sinton, Texas, Alicia lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to her family and friends. Alicia was a woman of vibrant character, known for her outspoken nature and her ability to light up any room with her presence. She was a hardworking mother and sister who approached every challenge with determination and grace. Her love for her family was immense, and she instilled in them the values of love and selflessness that she embodied every day. Her interests were simple yet brought her immense joy. Alicia had an affinity for yellow roses, which reflected her bright and cheerful spirit. She found pleasure in the excitement of scratch-off tickets and cherished the moments of relaxation with a cold Coca-Cola in hand. Alicia's three beloved dogs, Chili Weenie, Choco, and Little Girl, were her constant companions, providing her with comfort and happiness. Alicia's life was one of profound connection and care. She is preceded in death by her adored husband, Santos Calamaco; her loving son, David Anzaldua; and her dear siblings, Filomon Valdez, Maria Ramos, and Carlos Zuniga. Her legacy of her love and nurturing lives on through her daughter, Dominic Anzaldua; her son, Jacob Adam Anzaldua; her stepchildren, Santos Calamaco, Joe Calamaco, and Rene Calamaco; her siblings, Jannie Torres, Tomasa Arismendez, Christina Rivera, Angelita Martinez, Filomena Ambriz, Lucia Cortez, and Santos Valdez; and her cherished grandson, Nathaniel Anzaldua. Alicia's life was a testament to the power of giving without expecting anything in return. Her kindheartedness touched the lives of many, and her selfless acts of kindness will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her unwavering support and love for her family will continue to inspire and guide them. As we bid farewell to Alicia Anzaldua, we celebrate her remarkable life and the countless memories she has left behind. Her spirit, characterized by love and kindness, will continue to flourish in the hearts of those she touched. Alicia's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but her legacy of love and selflessness will endure forever. We take comfort in knowing that Alicia's life was lived to the fullest, surrounded by those she loved and who loved her in return. Her memory will be cherished, and her life celebrated as an example of what it means to truly care for others. Alicia’s family will receive condolences on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave., from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM; with a Holy Rosary and Liturgy of the Word to begin at 7:00 PM. Services will conclude in the chapel that evening.
