Alma Delia Valenzuela, née Hernandez, passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 64. She was born on July 26, 1962, in Mexico, and will be remembered as a lovely, sweet, and kind person whose warmth touched those around her.
Alma found joy in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures. She loved making tamales and became known affectionately as the “tamale queen,” a reflection of both her skill and the love she poured into sharing food with others. She enjoyed dancing, playing slot machines, knitting, and spending time with her grandkids. She especially treasured dancing with her son, a memory that remains deeply cherished. Alma also had a love for chocolate, and her favorite color was red, details that added to the bright and spirited way she was known by those who loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Jaime Valenzuela Hernandez. She also leaves behind her sisters, Graciela Zapata and Beatrice Hernandez; her brother, Hernandez; and her beloved grandchildren, Ariana Gonzales and Gabriel Luis Valenzuela, who brought her great happiness and companionship.
Alma was preceded in death by her daughters, Monserrat Valenzuela and Alma Gonzales; her son, Luis Fernando Valenzuela; and her sisters, Alicia Hernandez and Maria Louisa Hernandez. Their memories remain part of her life and story, and they are held close in the hearts of those who remember her.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St @ Port ave; with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM that evening. A Chapel Service will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Trevino Funeral Home, followed by burial at 11:30 AM at Rose Hill Memorial Park where Alma will be laid to rest.
Alma Delia Valenzuela will be remembered for her kindness, her sweetness, her love for family, and the joy she found in caring for others. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
