Anastacio V. "Richard" Hernandez Jr., age 64, passed away with his family by his side on March 20, 2013, after a long illness. He was born on September 7, 1948 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was raised in Robstown, Texas where he served as an alter boy at St. Anthony's Church. He loved to coach baseball and coached the baseball teams of both of his sons for a time spanning 15 years in Houston, and Corpus Christi. He was a very hard worker, he worked for several local construction companies the longest of which was for Strauss Interiors where he worked for 15 years. He finally retired after working proudly for his son's company Complete Drywall Systems. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anastacio and Maria Hernandez; maternal grandparents, Dimas and Lucinda Viveros; uncle, Jesus Viveros; Paternal grandparents, Toribio and Eugenia Hernandez. Anastacio leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years Eloisa "Lois" Hernandez; sons, Richard Hernandez (Karen E. Kilgore), Adrian (Veronica) Hernandez; and daughter, Tracy (Javier) Salinas; 6 granddaughters; 3 grandsons; 1great-granddaughter; two sisters, Rosario (Oscar) Lopez, Raquel (Felix) Pena; aunt, Rosa Viveros; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He will be dearly missed. Rites of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 10:00 am; interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
