Angelita Abrego, a cherished beacon of love and wisdom, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 2, 1953, Angelita's journey through life was marked by an unquenchable zest for learning and an enduring passion for the simple joy’s life offered. Preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ramon Abrego and Palmira Pena, Angelita's legacy is carried forward by her adoring family. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Melissa Ann Abrego, and son-in-law, Joseph Abrego, who will forever cherish her memory and the lessons of kindness and strength she imparted. Angelita's vibrant spirit lives on through her five sisters, Yolanda Aguirre, Vicky Bacon, Olga Tienda, Gracie Sandoval, and Elizabeth Ramon, and her brothers, Raymond Abrego and Ruben Abrego. Her role as a grandmother was one of her most treasured, as she leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for her grandchildren, (Joey) Jose Villalobos, Julissa Abrego, and Julia Abrego, and her great-grandson, (Jojo) Jose Villalobos III. Angelita's life was a testament to the power of nurturing relationships, and her influence extended far beyond her immediate family to her numerous nieces and nephews. Each bond she formed was unique and special, filled with moments of joy, learning, and mutual respect. She was a pillar of strength and wisdom in her family, and her guidance will be profoundly missed. An avid reader and writer, Angelita found solace and excitement in the pages of books and the flow of her pen. Her love for stories was infectious, and she often shared this passion with her grandson and granddaughter's during their cherished movie nights. Angelita’s family will receive condolences on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave., from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM; with Liturgy of Word to begin at 1:00 PM. Services will conclude that afternoon.
