Angelita Sauceda Perez peacefully entered eternal life while surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, in Alice, Texas. She was born on July 28, 1930, in Pleasanton, Texas. She leaves behind a profound legacy of love and warmth that will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends.
Angelita was a remarkable woman who was always beautifully dressed, adorned with matching accessories and perfect make-up, with her hair beautifully styled. Her joy and laughter lit up every room she entered. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She had a deep-rooted love for her children, and cherished every moment spent watching the boys play sports. These memories encompass not only her passion for nurturing but also her unwavering support for her children as they pursued their dreams.
A devoted family matriarch, Angelita found immense pleasure in cooking and baking, often filling her home with the delightful aromas of her culinary creations. Her kitchen was a sanctuary where flavors were mixed with love, and family gathered to share stories over home-cooked meals. Her passion extended beyond the kitchen; she enjoyed the thrill of playing Bingo and Chalupa, a pastime that brought her joy and laughter alongside her cherished friends. She also enjoyed listening and dancing to Tejano music, watching her novelas, and especially watching her favorite show, “The Golden Girls.”
Angelita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Perez Sr., whose memory she carried in her heart until the end; her daughter, Hilda (Jose) Cantu; her sons-in-law, Manuel Gonzalez, Manuel Villarreal, and Jim Mathern; her grandson Joe “Prito” Cantu; and her Infant great-grandson.
Left to cherish Angelita’s memories are her daughters, Irma Gonzalez, Bertha Villarreal, and Norma Mathern; her sons, Daniel (Esmeralda) Perez, Hector (Oralia) Perez, and Oscar (Nydia) Perez; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends, who were blessed to experience her kindness and nurturing spirit.
As we remember Angelita Perez, we celebrate a life beautifully lived, a life marked by love, devotion, and an unwavering spirit. She touched the lives of so many, and while she may no longer be with us in body, her memory will shine brightly in our hearts and the stories we share.
Angelita’s family will receive condolences on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Trevino Funeral Home Alice, 120 E. Front Street, from 10:00 until 11:30 AM, at which time the Holy Rosary and Liturgy of the Word will follow. Services will conclude that afternoon in the chapel.
