Obituary

Anna Maria Garcia, born on September 1, 1945, peacefully passed away on June 15, 2026. Her presence graced the lives of many with a spirit so luminous that anyone meeting her could not help but feel uplifted. Anna Maria was, without a doubt, always the happiest person you could ever meet. Even in the face of challenges brought on by her disability, she wore a smile that remained unshaken and radiated an unwavering positivity that inspired all who knew her.

Anna Maria’s heart beat to the rhythm of tejano music, and she was an ardent fan of Selena Quintanilla, a passion that brought her immense joy and connected her to cherished memories and cultural roots. Beyond her love of music, Anna Maria cherished the time spent with her siblings, sharing laughter, stories, and moments of togetherness that illuminated her days and theirs.

Her family was both the foundation and the joy of her life. She is lovingly remembered by her brother, Juan G. Garcia and his wife Angie; her sister, Sylvia Contreras; and her brother, Gilbert Garcia along with his wife Nora. These relationships were a source of strength and affection throughout her life.

Anna Maria also leaves behind the tender memory of those who preceded her in death: her beloved parents, Ana and Gilbert Garcia; her sister, Eva Garcia; and her brother, Mario Garcia. Though they are absent from this world, their spirits remain intertwined with hers, forming an unbroken bond of love and remembrance that lasts beyond time.

Her journey on this earth may have ended, but the light Anna Maria Garcia brought into the lives of those around her continues to shine brightly. She will be deeply missed but forever held in the hearts of her family and friends who were fortunate to know her remarkable spirit.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to M'agine Support Services and to the many caregivers, friends, and loved ones whose compassion, support, and care enriched her life and provided comfort in her final stages.

Anna’s family will receive condolences on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave; with the Holy Rosary and Liturgy of the Word to begin at 6:00 PM. Burial will take place at a later date at Duncan Cemetery.
