Apolonia Lopez Sandoval

Apolonia L. Sandoval passed away on November 29, 2022, at the age of 91. She was a loving, daughter, mother, sister, and friend to many. She will be missed by all whom knew her. To everyone that knew her, whether it was family or friends, she was simply known as Wela. Growing up with Wela we enjoyed cooking, and through her great experience, she taught her daughters all her recipes. Apolonia loved to watch her novelas and always be at family gatherings.

She was the rock and foundation of the family and will forever be in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Manuel Sandoval; father of her children, Victor Aguayo; son, Julian Aguayo; grandsons, Fernando Aguayo, Sr, Victor M. Aguayo, and Antonio Garcia; son-in-law, Raul A. Garcia, Jr; and sister-in-law, Cirilda R. Lopez

Left behind to cherish Apolonia’s memories are daughters, San Juana (Gilberto Sr.) Solis, Victoria Garcia, and Gracie Aguayo; son, Jose Luis (Sofia) Aguayo; brother, Andres H. Lopez, Sr; brother-in-law, Ruben Sandoval; daughter-in-law, Olivia Aguayo; 22 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, December 2, 2022, from 1:00 PM-2:30 PM, at Treviño Funeral Home Alice, 120 E. Front St.; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 2:30 PM. Liturgy of the Word will begin at 3:00 PM followed by Rite of Committal and Interment at New Collins Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Mi Casa Hospice for all they helped with; along with everyone who has reached out in this time.
