Arturo Maldonado passed peacefully into eternal life, while surrounded by his loving family, on November 3, 2026, leaving a legacy of love and family unity.
Arturo was raised with the values of respect, honesty, hard work, and strong faith. He was humble, generous, very loving, and family oriented. He lived his faith through his actions and deeds.
He loved to dance and socialize and was known as the King of Karoke. He enjoyed hosting events and celebrations in his home, but most of all, he loved barbecuing every weekend for all his family. He was always very attentive to the needs of his family and friends. Arturo was an avid fan of the Houston Astros and he was the ultimate #1 fan of the Dallas Cowboys; so much so that a big newspaper write-up was written about his love and support for the team.
He was a proud Vaquero who graduated from San Diego High School with the Class of 1979. He continued his education attending Bee County College, where he earned his degrees in accounting and welding. He worked for Weatherford as a District manager for over 10 years, and his last employment was with Triplex, Inc.
Arturo is preceded in death by his father, Margarito Maldonado Jr., and his brother, Adrian Maldonado.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 25 years, Elena Maldonado; his mother, Soila Maldonado; his children, Arturo Maldonado Jr., Omar Garza, Jr., Christi (JT) Ray, and Mark (Melissa) Garza; his siblings, Angelica "Angie" (Hector) Sanmaniego and Margarito (Zelda) Maldonado III; grandchildren, Hunter, Bailey, Mark Ryan, Krista, Mireya, Jatt, Kaitlyn, Lauren, and Oriah; great-grandchildren, Kai and Archie; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Arturo's family will receive condolences on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at Treviño Funeral Home Alice, 120 E. Front St., from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 PM. Services will conclude that evening in the chapel.
