Ashley Nicole Lucio-Buentello, better known as Ash, entered eternal life on January 14, 2026, while surrounded by her loving family. Ash was an amazing and loving mother and a beloved daughter, sister, and friend. She was born on July 6, 1992, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Ashley dedicated her career to caring for others as a devoted Certified Nursing Assistant at Meridian Nursing Care of Alice, where she treated her patients with compassion, patience, and loving care. She also worked for REAL, Inc as a clerk, showcasing her commitment to serving her community.
She was a proud graduate of the Alice High School class of 2010. Ashley played softball and kickball, earning recognition as an All-Star kickball player. Her educational journey was marked by her determination and enthusiasm, traits she carried throughout her life.
Ash was an amazing loving mother to her children, Isaiah Lucio, Kayden Buentello, Marcus Buentello, and Haylee Buentello. She went above and beyond to ensure that they had everything they needed, embodying the qualities of a nurturing parent.
Ash is also survived by her mother, Melinda Lucio; her siblings, Frank (Stacy) Garcia, Teri (Freddy) Martinez, and Jacinto (Amanda) Lucio III; her maternal grandmother, Jesusa Garcia, and paternal grandmother, Rosa Lucio; her partner in crime and dear cousin, Gabby (Abel) Salinas, who were like salt & peppa; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends, who were all fortunate to have known and love her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jacinto Lucio Jr.; her paternal grandfather, Jacinto Lucio Sr.; and her maternal grandfather, Baldemar Garcia Sr.
Her spirit was vibrant and full of life. Ash was respected for her honesty, hard work, generosity, and adventurous nature. She was also like a mother to her siblings, providing guidance, support, and loving discipline when needed. She had a particular fondness for classic rock music, often finding solace in the sounds of Pink Floyd. Occasionally, after a long hard workday, she cherished relaxing and listening to music while enjoying a bottle of her favorite wine.
Ashley had love for all the holidays and enjoyed decorating and celebrating. However, Thanksgiving Day was her favorite as she looked forward to preparing all the food, including her famous cornbread dressing. This was a day of family unity, laughing, joking, singing, and sharing each other’s company. Ash was an excellent cook and her children’s favorite dish was her mouth-watering spaghetti.
Throughout her four-year battle with illness, Ashley faced her challenges with remarkable determination, perseverance, courage, strength, and unwavering faith. Even in her final moments, she offered comfort and strength to her family, assuring them that everything would be alright, instilling in them the same love and peace that she had always shared.
Ashley Nicole Lucio-Buentello will be remembered not only for her dedication to her profession but also for her loving spirit and the countless lives she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience and love that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Ashley’s family will receive condolences on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Treviño Funeral Home Alice, 120 E. Front St., from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A Prayer service will begin at 6:00 PM and services will conclude that evening in the chapel.
