Baldemar Cuellar Guerrero "Balde", surrounded by family, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 19, 2016. He was 69. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bertha Villarreal Guerrero, two children: daughter Jennifer Guerrero Gordy and her spouse Bryan Gordy, son Richard Guerrero and spouse Ashley (Johnson) Guerrero. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Alyssa Gordy, Katharyn Gordy, Madeleine Guerrero, Olivia Guerrero, and Carolyn Peralez. As well as 6 great-grandchildren and many friends. Mr. Guerrero retired from the Civil Service (as an Air Craft Mechanic) and United States Army (as a Master Sargent), where he served for 35 years. As a war veteran, fully devoted to his duties as a solider, he earned the following medals: Army Commendation, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary, Global War on Terrorism Service, Army Good Conduct, National Defense Service, Armed Forces Expeditionary, Armed Forces Reserve W/M Device, Sharpshooter Marksmanship Qualification with Rifle Bar, as well as many more. He loved to fish, hunt, work on the yard, go for a run, and do all types of outdoor activities. His greatest joy derived from his family, in which he found his reason for life. As a family man, he put all relatives ahead of himself, he was truly a selfless man who wanted the best for everyone around him. Serving our country for many years, he became a member of the VFW and was able to express his selflessness for his country. He was born in Galveston, TX, although he was raised in Beeville where he graduated from AC Jones High School and eventually went on to earn an associate's degree at Beeville Community College. He was an all-around good man, who served his country well. He loved his family endlessly and brought pure happiness to those around him. With a contagious personality, bringing joy to all, he will be greatly missed. More family, he will now watch over, are siblings: Elsa Marie Guerrero, Adrian Scott Guerrero, Ester Montoya of Beeville, TX and Mary Melinda Garza with spouse Raul Garza of Austin, TX. He is preceded in death by his father Carlos E. Guerrero, mother, Teodora Guerrero, brother, Carlos Jr. Guerrero, and brother-in-law, Jacob Montoya. Prayer service will be held at Kingsway Church, on Thursday, April 21, at 7:00 pm, and will be officiated by Pastor Isaac De Los Santos. Funeral service will be held at Kingsway Church, 1496 FM 351, Beeville, TX, (where Baldemar worked in the Men's Ministry and served as an usher) on Friday, April 22, at 10:00 am; interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.
