Baudelia G. "Lela" Vela

Baudelia G. “Lela” Vela, age 86, passed away on February 1, 2022. Baudelia was born in Benavides, Texas on March 29, 1935. She was married to her husband Juan H. Vela for 65 years before he passed away.

Baudelia worked as a presser for Levi and Hagger for many years. She loved doing crossword puzzles and watching her Novelas. She loved her family and left them with many precious memories. She will be dearly missed. She is now reunited with her husband and son.

Baudelia is preceded in death by her husband, Juan H. Vela; her son, Lauro Vela; and her parents, Marcus Garza and Udelia Alaniz.

Baudelia is survived by her daughters, Isabel Thrasher, Maryann Vela, and Juanita (Nick) Vela; her sons, Juan H. Vela Jr, Homer (Esmeralda) Vela, Humberto Vela, and Stanley (Jessica) Vela; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara @ Port Ave; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 2:00 PM and a chapel service following at 2:30 PM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 3:00 PM for Rite of Committal and Interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
