Benito Gomez Mata
Benito Gomez Mata passed away on December 20, 2018 at the age of 74. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Benito proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was deeply loved by his family and friends; and will be dearly missed by all whom loved him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Alicia Mata; grandson, Nicholas Alexander Mata; parents, Bernabe and Rafaela Mata; sisters, Anita Cortez and Paula Mata; brothers, Domingo Mata, and Marcelo Mata; and step-mother, Julia Mata.
Among those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Rachel Marie Mata; sons, Benito Mata, Jr. and Alexander Lopez Mata; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 7 siblings; and numerous nephews, nieces, and extended family.
An urn burial with military honors will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
