Bertino Matamoros passed away on April 7, 2023, at the age of 91. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He worked for many years a migrant worker for the Railroad Commission that took him all over the United States with his wife by his side. Bertino loved to watch baseball and spend time with his wife and family. He was very well known for wearing his infamous paper boy hats and always had a smile on his face.
He is preceded in death by his two sons, Bertino Matamoros Jr. and Inocencio Matamoros; his parents, Gregorio and Maria Matamoros; his great-grandson, Quentin Castillo; and son-in- law, Tomas Gonzales.
Left behind to cherish Bertino’s memories are his wife of 72 years, Dominga “Guadalupe” Matamoros; daughter, Mary Ann Castillo; son, Armando Matamoros (Elida); granddaughter, Amy Mata (Ernesto Jr.); great grandson, Jax; grandchildren, Luis Castillo Jr., (Tracy); Michael Matamoros, Mark Matamoros, Jonathan Matamoros and respective spouses, Christopher Hathorn (Jenny), Krystal Matamoros, Roland Matamoros (Mayra), and Monica Matamoros; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Hetzel, Kalob Skaggs, Rolando Matamoros, Jr., Clarissa Matamoros, Bertino Matamoros, Justin Castillo (Janie), Luis Castillo III, Cruz Castillo, and Marcus Castillo; former daughter-in-law, Cyndie Hathorn; and many other family members.
