Branden Colunga Contreras

Branden Colunga Contreras, 21, left us Wednesday evening, March 17, 2021.  Branden was born October 18, 1999 in Corpus Christi, TX to Monique and Reynaldo Contreras. Branden graduated from Carroll HS in 2019 where he was known city wide for his tremendous athletic record when he played varsity football. Branden loved to play ball since he was just a kid. He was currently employed at FSG as an Electrician Helper. He was working hard on becoming an electrician and was so proud as he was enrolled at the Craft Training Center in Corpus Christi.

He enjoyed playing sports, being the best dog dad to Molly and Grizzly, and spending time with family and friends; especially his baby nephew Mathew who he enjoyed the most.

Branden was the best son, brother, grandson, great-grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend anyone could ask for. His smile lit up the room and he knew just how to change the mood. He was definitely a family man and was always there for everyone. He is going to be greatly missed by all!

Branden was greeted at our heavenly gates by his paternal grandparents, Raymon and Diana Contreras.

Branden leaves behind his parents, Monique and Reynaldo Contreras; sister, Marissa (Mathew) Contreras; brother, Jose Contreras; nephews, Zadriel Romero and Mathew Rosas Jr; maternal grandparents, Clemencia Tovar and David Colunga Sr; aunt, Miranda (Omar) Flores; uncles, David (Celeste) Colunga Jr, Richard (Laura) Contreras, and Raymon Contreras; aunt, Debra (Carlos) Montez; girlfriend, Savannah Garcia; and numerous cousins, extended family, and friends.

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port; with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, to Ss Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Face mask must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
