Carlos Arturo Prado

Carlos Arturo Prado Jr., a beacon of joy and laughter, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2024, in his hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on May 9, 1952, also in Corpus Christi, Carlos' life was characterized by his loving nature, his infectious humor, and his unwavering friendliness to all he encountered.  He was a proud Veteran, serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1970 to 1971. Carlos' journey through life was one filled with the simple pleasures. His laughter was a familiar and comforting sound to those who knew him, often described as the happiest and nicest man one could ever meet. He always had a joke to share with friends and loved ones, finding joy in making people smile and laugh. He enjoyed fishing and barbecuing but enjoyed the socialization of being with friends and family more. He was the life of the party. His passion for collecting was a testament to his appreciation for the stories and history behind each item. A known Coca Cola enthusiast, Carlos could often be found with a smile on his face and a Coke in hand. He was a beloved father, brother, uncle and friend, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. Carlos is survived by his two daughters, Angela Austin (Joe Alcala) and Julia Ann Leo (husband, Tony Leo). His joyous spirit will live on through his grandchildren, Jake and Sarah Austin; Emma, Elaina, and Tony Leo IV, and A'million Moore.

Carlos' memory will also be treasured by his three sisters, Nelda Castillo, Anna Cuellar (Rudy), and Roberta Ortiz (Carlos); along with numerous nieces and nephews who were fortunate to experience his happy spirit and light-heartedness.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Aurora and Carlos Prado; brother, Ricky Prado; and sister, Delores Prado. Throughout his life, Carlos formed countless friendships that stood the test of time. His ability to connect with people on a genuine level made him a beloved figure in his community. His presence was a source of comfort and happiness, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. As we bid farewell to Carlos Arturo Prado Jr., we celebrate the joy he brought into our lives. His laughter and love will echo in our hearts forever. Carlos' life was a reminder that the richest moments are often the simplest ones, shared with family and friends. He has left an indelible mark on the world, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who were touched by his extraordinary life.
