Casciano Gonzales Jr.

Casciano Gonzales Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away at home, amidst the love and comfort of his family, to be with the heavenly father the age of 78.  Casciano retired in 1999 from NAS Corpus Christi MWR Gulf Winds Golf Course as a Golf Course Superintendent after 39 years.  He loved to work on his yard, barbecuing and spending time with family and friends.  He will be missed by all whom knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his oldest grandson, Gabriel Yturria; parents, Manuela & Casciano Gonzales; brothers, Johnny, Frank, and Arthur Gonzales; sister, Mary Verastiqui; and in laws, Marcelino and Martina De La Vina.

Casciano is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ernestina Gonzales; four children, two sons, Casciano (Rachel) Gonzales Jr., and Richard (Norma) Gonzales; two daughters, Norma Gonzales, and Cynthia Gonzales; six grandchildren, Cassandra Gonzales, Michael Gonzales, Arlene Gonzales, Marissa Gonzales, Brandon Alonzo and Brittney (Chris) Briseno, four great grandchildren, Christina Singletary, Nathaniel Yturria, Cory Lambert and Cameron Briseno;  sisters, Beatrice Bocaneagra, Dottie Renteria, Tomasita Rodriguez, and Frances Myers.

His family would like to acknowledge sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at Del Cielo Hospice that helped care for Casciano.

The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port, from 6 PM to 9 PM; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7 PM.  A funeral liturgy will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Treviño Funeral Home followed by interment at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Face masks must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
