Cecilia W. Metoyer

Cecilia W. Metoyer, age 94, passed away peacefully, on June 13, 2016. She was born in Louisiana and in early 1940 moved to Corpus Christi, TX. She retired as a seamstress from the Naval Air Station Army Depot Upholstery Shop in the 80's, and then from Kmart. She was a devout Catholic and a parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Church. She was raising her grandson, Ronald James and was a member of Grandparents Raising Grandkids. She was a strong independent woman, and will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her husband, of 67 years, John C. Metoyer; four children: Judy Ann, David Allen, Sr., John Leslie, Wayne Stephen; and son-in-law, Cliff Tomko. She is survived by her children: Jeannie (Cleo) Metoyer Ray, Annette (Bill) Megneys, Cecilia Tomko; Robert (Brenda), Thomas, Donald, Ronald; 24 grand children, numerous great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Judy. The family will be receiving friends at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara at Port on Friday, June 17, from 3 pm to 9 pm; with Holy Rosary at 7 pm. A funeral chapel service will be held at Treviño Funeral Home on Saturday, June 18, at 9 am; burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
