Celestino Cervantes, Jr. passed away on December 25, 2018 at the age of 70. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Celestino proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and Desert Storm; and retired as a Sergeant. He was deeply loved by his family and friends; and will be dearly missed by all whom loved him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Terry Cervantes; parents, Celestino and Maria Cervantes; brother, Felix Cervantes; father and mother-in-law, Enrique and Santos Carranco.
Among those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Laura (Joe) Cervantes-Coronado and Samantha Cervantes (Julian Limon); granddaughter, Kayri S. Jennings; brothers, Jesse (Nelda) Cervantes, Ralph (Carolyn) Cervantes, Mario Cervantes; sisters, Gloria Hernandez, and Yolanda Constante; and numerous nephews, nieces, and extended family.
The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, January 02, 2019, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port; with a holy rosary recited at 7:00 PM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 03, 2019 to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM. Rite of Committal and Interment with Military Honors will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
