Charles Morton Rogers

Charles Morton Rogers, age 61, was called upon the Lord on July 12, 2012. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend to all whom knew him. He was not only a gentleman, he was a gentle man. He was a navy corpsman for 6 years and a Firefighter II Engineer for over 29 years. Morton was a fighter in many aspects of his life, not only in his job but also in his health battles as well; he overcame a double lung transplant and battled cancer. He went peacefully with his family by his side. He joins in heaven his father, Charles Rogers Jr. Morton leaves behind his loving wife of 39 years, Renae Rogers; daughter, Erin (Kenny) Erben; son, Garrett (Jayme) Rogers; mother, Nellie Rogers; grandchildren, Wyatt Erben, Katy Erben, Nathanael Rogers, Ann Jayden Rogers, Phoebe Rogers; mother- in-law, Lee Edwards. The family will have a memorial service in his honor at Corpus Christi Firefighters Association Union Hall on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Cancer Society as well as consideration in becoming an organ donor.
