Christopher Alex Chavera

April 5, 1978 - September 21, 2026

Christopher will be remembered for his strong faith in God, his generous spirit, his willingness to serve others, and his ability to bring laughter and joy to those around him. He always sought to put God first in his life, spreading His Word and striving to live in a Christ-like manner. Christopher believed in serving others through his actions, often taking the time to clean debris and trash at local businesses, the church, and alongside his family. He was never concerned with what others thought of him; what mattered most to him was living in a way that honored God.

Above all, Christopher cherished his family, especially his four sons. His boys, Christopher Alex (Gabby) Chavera Jr., Branden Chavera, Codie Chavera, and Kobe Chavera, held a special and irreplaceable place in his heart. He loved each of them deeply and was proud to be their father. He also lovingly cared for his step-daughter, Kailey Saenz. His love for his children and family was one of the greatest joys of his life.

Christopher enjoyed many hobbies and pastimes. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Lakers, and Houston Astros. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, weightlifting, barbecuing, and working in the oilfield. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sharing a good laugh, and bringing cheer to those around him. His humor, kindness, and willingness to lend a helping hand will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Christopher is survived by his four sons, Christopher Alex (Gabby) Chavera Jr., Branden Chavera, Codie Chavera, and Kobe Chavera; step-daughter, Kailey Saenz; biological parents, Alejandro (Lisa) Chavera and Hilda Peña Moreno; sisters, Yolanda Dryden, Ninfa Chavera, Angelina (Michael) Chavera, and Rose Marie Chavera; step-sister, Erica Durham; brother, Pablo (Jessica) Chavera Jr.; step-brother, Richard “Ricky” Durham; and numerous cousins, niece, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pablo Chavera Sr.; mother, Lucia Gonzalez Chavera; grandparents, Guadalupe and Francisca Alaniz; step-father, Roy Moreno; step-mother, Leticia Mendoza Chavera; sister, Rosa Maria Chavera; aunt, Rosalinda Alaniz; and uncles, Arnoldo Peña and Javier Alaniz.

Christopher was a part of Church Unlimited, where he served others and sought to fulfill Christ’s mission. His faith was an important part of his life, and his family takes comfort in knowing that his love for God was evident in the way he served and cared for others.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made directly to Church Unlimited Westside in Christopher’s memory, in honor of his commitment to serving others and fulfilling Christ’s mission.

Christopher will be deeply missed by his children, family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His memory will live on through the love he gave, the laughter he shared, the service he offered, and the family he cherished so dearly.

May he rest peacefully in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Christopher’s family will receive condolences on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 6:30 PM until to 9:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave.; with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 PM that evening. Services will conclude in the chapel that evening.
