Consuelo (Chelo) Garcia

Consuelo (Chelo) Garcia passed away on September 18, 2024, at the age of 84, in Corpus Christi, TX.

Chelo is preceded in death by her husband, Noe Garcia; her parents, Lauro and Amparo Cantu; and her siblings, Arturo Cantu, Maria Cantu, and Lauro Cantu Jr.

She is survived by her sister, Beatrice Flores, and her children, Victor Garcia, Enrique Garcia Sr., Joe Luis Garcia, Michael Garcia, Rosalinda Cantu Vargas, and Gilbert Cantu. Chelo was a cherished grandmother to 26 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and had the privilege of being a great-great-grandmother to eight children.

Chelo was energetic and was interested in remodeling and home décor. She also loved music. She was sympathetic and was always readily available to help family in need. Her vigorous presence will be missed.

Consuelo’s family will receive condolences on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave., from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM; with a Prayer Service to begin at 7:00 PM. Services will conclude that evening.
