Daniel "Gator" Ubando Aguilar, Sr.

Daniel "Gator" Ubando Aguilar, Sr., passed away on January 13, 2016, at the age of 59. He retired from the Coast Guard after 24 years of service, along from the Veterans Band and The Calaveras, NW, MC. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Luis and Benita Aguilar; and best friend, Rumaldo P. Bustamante. He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Nance-Aguilar, his daughters Sabrina Aguilar, Tiffany Garcia, and Brittany Lopez; sons, Daniel Aguilar, Jr., Dale Shockome, and Bobby Lopez ; sister, Belia A. Cavazos; brothers, Rudy Aguilar, and Jose L. Aguilar; good friend, Gabe Guerrero; numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. The family will be receiving friends at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2509 Nogales Street, on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 5:30 pm to 9 pm; a Holy Rosary will be recited at 7pm. A funeral procession will depart Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St., at 9 am for a Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 am, on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 11 am.
