Daniel Paul Villarreal, aged 66, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on August 27, 2024. Born in Corpus Christi on April 9, 1958, he lived a life marked by dedication to his family and was a lifelong resident of Corpus Christi.

Daniel attended Christ the King Catholic School and graduated from W.B. Ray High School. Daniel’s career started out working in the intense environment of Reynolds Metal Company working alongside his Father, Arturo V. Villarreal. Daniel’s career later ventured into the culinary world, cooking for high-end restaurants. Daniel was a skilled painter and his adventurous spirit shown through in his painting career notably painting the Corpus Christi Harbor Bridge and various water towers, showcasing his bravery and dedication to his craft. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish his own painting business and a landscaping and mowing service.

Daniel served as an altar boy at Christ the King Catholic Church, where he remained as a lifelong member. Daniel’s faith was a cornerstone of his existence, guiding him through the challenges and joys of life.

Daniel was a loving husband to his late wife, Eva Morales Villarreal, and a devoted father to Julian Paul (Lisa Marie) Morales, Leonor Ercilia (Joshua) Martinez, and Beatrice Rebecca Morales. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Manuela S. Villarreal, and his siblings, Anna Marie Villarreal (Patricia A. Salinas), Arturo V. Villarreal Jr., Lucia S. Villarreal, Mary Imelda (Noe Sr) Castillo, Noe Jr. (Daniezka), {Daniella and Diego} Castillo, Amada Alicia (Paul) Beaudoin, Gilbert J. Silvas III, Jeanette Silvas Saldana, {Robert Saldana II and Alonzo Saldana}, {Mia Beaudoin}, Grace (Joe) Pena, Lorissa (Jody) Crisp {Seth, Samuel, Shiloh}, Priscilla C. Pena {Stella Thumann-Pena} and Isaac D. Pena. He was preceded in death by his father, Arturo V. Villarreal.

Daniel was a great “Storyteller” just like his dad, Arturo V. Villarreal, and he shared every aspect of his life to his children through heartfelt storytelling.

Daniel was a super “protector” of his family and his children felt safe everywhere they went with their dad. Daniel was an avid reader, he stayed well-informed on political and community issues, and he had the ability to debate various topics with intelligence and enthusiasm.

His love for music was infectious, influencing his children to pursue musical talents of their own.

A passionate fisherman, Daniel instilled the love of fishing in his children and often taking them to Padre Island to share this cherished pastime, just like his dad did with him. These moments on the water were among his most treasured.

The Mass for Daniel Paul Villarreal will be held on Saturday, October 05, 2024 at 1:00pm at Christ the King Catholic Church with the Holy Rosary to be recited 30 minutes before Mass at 12:30pm. Please join us as we break bread together over a humble luncheon Celebrating the Life of Daniel, immediately following the Mass across the parking lot at Christ the King Church Parish Hall.
