Darlene Ursula Medrano

Darlene Ursula Medrano, a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas, on November 24, 2023. Born on July 15, 1967, in Corpus Christi, Darlene was a cherished member of the community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Darlene was a woman of strength, resilience, and unwavering love. She was a beacon of light in the lives of her family and friends, always ready with a kind word or a comforting hug. Her infectious laughter and warm spirit will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was preceded in death by her father, Celso Medrano, and her brother, Joey Medrano. Their memories live on in Darlene's heart and in the stories she shared with her loved ones. Her legacy continues through her surviving family members who will forever cherish her memory. Darlene is survived by her life partner, Roland Garza,  her daughters, Bianca Garcia and Leanette Gomez; her sons, Adan Gomez and Percy Garcia (Jessica); her mother, Blanca Garcia; her siblings, Jessica Selvera (Vicente) and Phillip Selvera (Nennette); and her three grandchildren, Leanet, Iva, and Isaiah. Her love for her family was immeasurable, and she was a constant source of support and encouragement for them all. In addition to her immediate family, Darlene leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Each one of them held a special place in her heart, and she in theirs. Her love and kindness extended beyond her family, touching the lives of everyone she met. Darlene Ursula Medrano's life was a testament to the power of love, compassion, and resilience. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love will endure.

Darlene’s family will receive condolences on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave., from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A Holy Rosary and Liturgy of The Word will begin at 7:00 PM. Services will conclude that evening.
