David Olivares

Our beloved David Olivares died peacefully Monday, May 17, 2021, with his family by his side. He was born to Manuel and Porfiria Olivares in Alice, Texas

David had a child-like spirit and was full of joy, happiness, and faith even at times of suffering and pain. He enjoyed being around family, listening to all kinds of music, and loved dancing.

David was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Olivares Sr; and brothers, Robert Olivares and Manuel Olivares Jr.

He is survived by his mother, Porfiria Olivares; siblings, Margie (Albert) Trafton, Miguel (Gloria) Olivares, Minerva Lopez, Leonardo “Lee” Olivares, Magdalena (Robert) Gomez, Graciela Bass, Jose Olivares, Martin Olivares, Felix Olivares, and Gloria (Douglas) Cleveland; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, May 21, 2021, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St, Alice, Texas; with Liturgy of the Word to be celebrated at 1:00 PM followed by Rite of Committal and Interment at San Diego Cemetery.

Honoring David as pallbearers will be Douglas Cleveland, Miguel Olivares, R.J. Rodriguez, Jesus Lopez, Jose Olivares, and Felix Olivares; serving as honorary pallbearer is Hector Chapa.

Face masks must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
