Delfina S. Vera

Delfina S. Vera, age 77, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at her residence. She loved cooking, baking and being a housewife. She was a loving mother, daughter, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend. She was married to Juan P. Vera for 54 years. She has a strong spirit that never gave up and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was born at El Toro Ranch to Clemente and Leonarda G. Samaniego in San Diego, Texas. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Clemente and Leonarda G. Samaniego; two sons, Juan Gilberto Vera and Rene Vera; two brothers, Clemente Samaniego Jr., and Juan Manuel Samaniego; one sister Elodia S. Gonzalez. She is survived by her husband Juan P. Vera; two sons, Jose Luis (Christina) Vera, and David (Priscilla) Vera; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews; sisters, Luz (Humberto) Rodriguez, Carmen (Armando) Lichtenberger, Barbara (Pedro) Bernal, Consuelo Perez, Eloisa (Roberto) Sepulveda, and Angelita Briones; one brother, Roman (Olga) Samaniego. Pallbearers: Armando Lichtenberger, Jr., Carlos Perez, Luis Bernal, Carlo Tanguma, Jose Luis Vera, Alejandro Garza, Joel Perez, and Daniel Gonzalez. Honorary Pallbearers: Matthew Vera, Darron Vera, Aaron Vera, and Dustin Munoz. The family will be receiving friends Sunday, January 24, 2016 5pm to 9pm, at Trevino Funeral Home 120 E. Front, with a Holy Rosary recited at 6pm. Christian Rites of Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday, January 25, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Diego Cemetery, San Diego, Texas.
