Diana Rodriguez entered eternal life on January 1, 2026, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 16, 1960, in Alice, Texas, to her parents, Amando and Elida Garza. Diana's life was a testament to humility and unconditional love, epitomized by her devotion to her family and her home.
Diana was a dedicated mother to her children, Jennifer (Sonny) Rodriguez, Georgia Lopez, and Anthony Rodriguez. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, Kyra Rangel, Leandra Rodriguez, Natalie Lopez, Sara Lopez, Javier Rodriguez, and Jayse Rodriguez. Diana is also survived by her siblings, Olga Garza, Alma Garza, Janie (Rafael) Mendiola, Carlos Garza, Clarence (Dalia) Garza, Amando Garza, Emma Garza, and Oscar Garza, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who were fortunate to have known and loved Diana and who will forever treasure her memory.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Amando and Elida Garza; her brother, Joe Garza; her maternal grandparents, Feliberto and Paula Balderas; her paternal grandfather, Clarencio Garza; and her paternal grandmother, Juanita Elizondo.
Diana’s proudest accomplishment was her family, and she took pride in being attentive to their needs and well-being. Nurturing them with love and teaching them the values of respect, humility, honesty, and hard work through her actions and deeds.
Despite attending school only through the sixth grade to assist her parents, Diana's wisdom and sincerity were evident in all aspects of her life. She was so humble and sincere of heart; she truly enjoyed staying home and raising her children. She also enjoyed working on crafts and creating home decorations that brought warmth to her house, particularly during the Christmas season which just happened to be her favorite holiday. She made sure the house was decorated in the Christmas spirit to celebrate the birth of her Savior.
Diana enjoyed colorful flowers, everything sparkly, and being outdoors. Besides crafting, she did enjoy her quite time to see her daily soap opera, “The Young and The Restless”. Listening to Tejano music was another pleasure, especially if it was music by Selina.
Diana’s family will receive condolences on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Treviño Funeral Home Alice, 120 E. Front St., from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Recitation of the Holy Rosary and Liturgy of the Word will begin at 11:30 AM followed by Rite of Committal and Interment at Roberson Collins Cemetery, where Diana will be laid to rest in the peace of Christ.
Honoring Diana as Pallbearers are George Rodriguez, Elijah Rivera, Daniel Estrada, Adrian Estrada, Mike Mendiola, and Tyler Rosales.
