Don "Donnie" Vollmering

Don "Donnie" Vollmering, 78, passed away on September 22, 2012. Donnie was born January 23, 1934 in Dripping Springs, TX to Walter and Maude Vollmering. Donnie worked for the railroad and as a carpenter in Austin, TX, and then later moved to Corpus Christi, TX where he worked as a fence builder and a shrimper. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and boating with his family and friends; however, spending time with family and friends was what he loved best. Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, daughter, Kathy, and granddaughter, Rhonda. He leaves behind his loving wife of 37 years, Diane; sons, Don Vollmering Jr., Steven (Griselda) Small Vollmering, David Preece, and Michael (Andrea) Small; daughters, Ruth Bush, Connie (Mike) Berckenhoff, Donna Jean Johnson, Donna (Jeff) Craig, and Dana Preece; daughter-in-laws, Theresa Preece and Heather Vollmering along with numerous grandchildren. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Trevino Funeral Home 3006 Niagara at Port from 11 am to 1 pm; with a Eulogy at 12 pm.
