Donald Raymond
Hite
December 20, 1945 – April 10, 2026
Donald Raymond Hite, born on December 20, 1945, passed away on April 10, 2026. A hardworking man who spent the majority of his life in Portland, Oregon, Donald embraced a quiet, humble existence marked by kindness, devotion, and a steadfast sense of purpose. In his later years, when circumstances no longer permitted him to remain in Portland, he moved to Texas to join his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Anna, in Agua Dulce.
Donald was a God-fearing and polite gentleman, known for his considerate nature and his preference for keeping to himself. Throughout his life, he stayed busy with various interests and activities without ever imposing on others. He had great fondness for his cat, affectionately named CAT, who was a constant companion in his quiet home.
After retiring from his work at Sealy Mattress Company, Donald dedicated much of his time to planting flowers and cultivating roses, bringing beauty and tranquility to his surroundings. His passion for nature was just one aspect of a life well-lived with gentle care and intention. He was widely recognized and respected by many who knew him, not only for his volunteer work and active involvement in church activities but also for his efforts in keeping friends and family connected.
In his youth, Donald was notably active in sports, particularly enjoying running, and he retained a lifelong affection for bowling. His cherished bowling ball was a treasured possession, reminding him of joyful times in his younger years. Additionally, he took pleasure in collecting floating glass, a hobby that illustrated his appreciation for the small and beautiful things in life.
Donald shared a special friendship with his best friend Jose, a bond that offered companionship and warmth throughout the years. Despite living a generally quiet and solitary life, Donald was surrounded by the love of his family and the community he nurtured.
He is survived by his sons, Dave Jungling, age 56, his wife BJ, and their 4 sons; Robert Hite, age 52, and Anna; and Donald Hite Jr., age 50, engaged to fiancée Katie, and their children, Terrence and Emily. His grandchildren, Desiree (33), Jasmine (23), Ninoy (16), Altheya (14), and Uriah (13), also carry forward his enduring legacy of love and devotion.
A private family service to honor and remember Donald will be held at the Hite residence in Agua Dulce once he has returned home to be with his loved ones.
Donald Raymond Hite’s life was one of quiet dedication, simple joys, and heartfelt connections. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.
