Dora T. Anaya, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on February 6, 1930, in Alice, Texas, Dora lived a life marked by devotion to her faith, love for her family, and a tireless work ethic. She was a beacon of kindness and generosity, leaving a legacy of warmth and selflessness that will be remembered by all who knew her. Dora spent over two decades serving the Alice Independent School District with dedication. Her commitment to the students and staff of William Adams Middle School was evident in her work in the cafeteria, where her presence was a comforting staple. Dora's nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life and into the homes of her family and friends, where she was known for her exceptional cooking skills. Her delicious enchiladas and homemade bread were not just meals but expressions of her love and care. Dora was a faithful life-long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was an active participant in the church community, contributing her time and energy to the Altar Rosary Society. Her faith-filled life was an inspiration to many, and her involvement in the church was a testament to her commitment to her beliefs and the community she held dear. Dora's kind-hearted nature and respectful demeanor were matched by her punctuality and hard work. She approached every task with a sense of responsibility and a smile that could light up any room. Her loving nature made her a grandmother figure to many of her nieces and nephews, whom she cared for with great affection. In the hearts of her family, she was not just an aunt but a guiding presence who enriched their lives with her wisdom and kindness. She is preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Julia Anaya; her siblings, Gilberto (Macaria) Anaya, Alejandro Anaya, Consuelo Anaya, Ramiro (Evangelina) Anaya, and Manuel (Maria) Anaya, as well as her sister-in-law, Raquel Villarreal and nephew Mario Longoria Sr.
Dora's memory is lovingly cherished by her brother Severiano "Severo" Villarreal; her niece Gloria Longoria; her nephew Pete (Stacy) Anaya; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who were touched by her selfless spirit. Dora's life was a reflection of the words that best describe her: loving, faith-filled, and selfless. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing this extraordinary woman.
Rest in peace, Dora T. Anaya, knowing that your life was a testament to the beauty of a heart given freely to others.
