Dorothy "Dottie" Duncan

Dorothy “Dottie” Spires Duncan was born on December 28, 1958, in Sheffield, Alabama. She married her husband, Jimmy Duncan, and gave life to her two daughters and one son, Cathy, Jessica, and Jonathan Duncan. She was loved by everyone in her family and was a kind and genuine person who always helped people when they needed it. She was very loving and caring and always made sure that everyone was taken care of.

Dorothy was a substitute teacher for many years at CCISD and always loved caring for children. Despite being ill most of her life, even with the loss of her hearing, she had a very big heart, and it got her through so many hardships in her life. She peacefully passed away on July 18, 2025, and was surrounded by every person that she had cared for and loved.

Dorothy’s family will receive condolences on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara at Port Ave, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 PM and services will conclude in the chapel that evening.
