Obituary

Dorothy Marlene Leal, a cherished wife, beloved mother, and doting grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 81. Born on August 28, 1944, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Dorothy brightened the lives of all who knew her with her kindness, warmth, and vibrant spirit.

Dorothy’s journey through life was marked by a deep passion for both family and the things she loved. She shared her life with her devoted husband, Maximiliano Leal Jr., standing as a pillar of support and love. Together, they created a beautiful family that Dorothy nurtured with her entire heart.

Her sons, Maximiliano Leal III, Robert Leal (Marcy Leal), Joe Leal (Lee Leal), Gabriel Leal (Ashleigh Leal), along with her daughters, Michelle Tugade and Melissa Todd (Willard Todd), were blessed to be enveloped in her unwavering love. Each child holds a treasure trove of memories, as they recall the music that filled her home and the dances that brought joy to their gatherings, all fueled by Dorothy’s infectious enthusiasm for life.

She found tremendous joy in NASCAR, where the thrill of the race mirrored her energetic spirit. Music and dancing were not just hobbies; they were expressions of happiness, and her home often resonated with the sounds of life and laughter. Dorothy's zest for living was evident in every twirl and every beat that filled her heart.

Dorothy was also a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, cherishing the moments spent with her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They will forever carry the legacy of her love, laughter, and each lesson imparted with grace and tenderness.

Though Dorothy faced the loss of dear family members, including her father, Robert Roberson, her mother. Starr Roberson, her brother, Larry Roberson, and her beloved daughter, Nicole Leal, she remained a beacon of strength, sharing love and wisdom that transcended her personal losses.

As we remember Dorothy's remarkable life, we celebrate the boundless love she gave, the joy she spread, and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends who continue to honor her legacy through the love she instilled in them.

Dorothy’s family will receive condolences on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St @ Port Ave, with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Services will conclude that evening.
