Eddie Abel Garcia, a beloved father, grandfather, and brother, and dedicated carpenter, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on April 21, 1958, Eddie dedicated over 30 years of his life to the Corpus Christi Independent School District (CCISD), where his craftsmanship and commitment were cherished by all who knew him.
Eddie was a proud graduate of Roy Miller High School, where he laid the foundation for a life filled with hard work and dedication. His service in the Army instilled in him values of discipline and respect, which he carried throughout his life as a valued member of the community.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Eddie was a passionate outdoorsman, bringing joy to countless family gatherings through his hobbies of hunting and fishing. He was known for his infectious enthusiasm while watching football and organizing memorable family barbeques, where laughter and love abounded.
Eddie is survived by beloved mother, Ramona Garcia; his brothers, Pablo Garcia, Jr. (Mary Garcia), Lawrence Garcia, and Leonard Garcia (Norma Garcia); his cherished children, Brandy Garcia and Gigi Zamora (Erica Zamora); and his beloved grandchildren, Gabriel Moreno, Amaris Newman, and Jordan Maggiolo, who will forever hold dear the memories of the times they shared with him. Eddie is also survived by his loving wife, Ida, who shared the joy of raising their grandchild, Jayce, creating a bond that will always be cherished.
He was preceded in death by his father, Pablo Garcia, and his son, Eddie Abel Garcia II. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and their memories remain a vital part of his legacy.
Eddie Abel Garcia's warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to family and work will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit lives on in the hearts of his loved ones, and his contributions to both his profession and family will never be forgotten.
Eddie’s family will receive condolences on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St., from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM; with a Holy Rosary and Eulogy to begin at 12:00 PM. Rite of Committal and Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, at 2:00 PM.
