Elda B. Acuna

Elda B. Acuña, age 65, passed away on November 18, 2014. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and nurse. Elda went back to school in 1991 and got her GED, then continued on to get her LVN license in 1995; she worked as an LVN for 20 years. She will be dearly missed by many. She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Palmira Campos; brothers, Joventino Campos and Juanito Campos; sister, Josephine Fernandez; In-laws, Manuel and Olivia Acuña. Elda leaves behind her loving husband of 38 years, Hilario Acuña; daughter, Maria Isabel Huerta (Martin Gonzalez); sons, Juan David Barrientes (Sandra Elizondo), George Javier (Anna) Barrientes, and Ted (Aida) Colunga; step-son, Marcus Castillo; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siste's, Ida (Pedro) Perez and Anna (Jose) Rosales; brother, George (Maria) Campos; nephews/sons, Pedro "Chato" (Ronnie) Perez and Martin Perez, her special golden child; and numerous nephews and nieces. The family would like to give a special thanks to her family, co-workers, and to her friends "Joan" and Michelle "La Gringa" for their love and support during Elda's final days. The family will be receiving friends at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara at Port, on Friday, November 21, 2014, from 3 pm to 9 pm; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 pm. Rites of Christian burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 22, 2014; cremation will follow.
