Obituary

In Loving Memory of Elena Guzman Padron

With heavy hearts and loving memories, we honor the beautiful life of our beloved Elena Guzman Padron. Elena was born on March 27, 1954 in Corpus Christi, Texas, and peacefully passed away on September 12, 2026. Elena was preceded in death by her parents, Andres and Juanita Guzman; her sister, Juanita (Lorenzo) Pena; her aunt, Cecilia Vidaurri, her cousin, Juanita Vidaurri, and her nephews, Eric Madrid, Ivan Madrid, and Israel Cavazos. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Jesse R. Padron; her daughters, Amelia Alvarado (Jose), Nancy Lopez (Carlos), and Nelly Lugo; her sons, John Navejar (Julie) and Mario Lugo; and her stepdaughters, Jessica Williams and Veronica Padron. Elena was also blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought tremendous joy to her life. She is also survived by her sisters, Virginia Cavazos and Mary Madrid (Moses), along with many other family members and loved ones who will deeply miss her. Elena found joy in the simple things in life. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing lotería, shopping, dancing, and collecting purses and hats. Her favorite colors were red, yellow, and black, and some of her favorite foods were tacos de tripa and eggs with shrimp. She had a generous and caring heart and loved giving back to her community. But above everything else, Elena loved her family. Family gatherings held a very special place in her heart, and being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and loved ones brought her great happiness. Her family will forever remember her love, generosity, and all the precious moments they shared with her. Although her presence will be deeply missed, the love she gave will continue to live on through her family and everyone whose life she touched.

Elena’s family will receive condolences on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM; with recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM that evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Services will conclude at the church.
