Elena Urtado Trevino, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, left this world peacefully on August 14, 2024, at the age of 84 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on October 22, 1939, in Odem, Texas, to loving parents Francisco and Carmen Urtado, Elena's life was a testament to the power of family, love, and laughter.
Elena, known affectionately by her family and friends as a kind, funny, and generous soul, dedicated her life to her family. She is survived by her five sons, Frank, Enriquez, Luis (Katherine), Daniel (Martha), and Alex (Linda), all residing in Corpus Christi, Texas. Her presence will also be profoundly missed by her four daughters, Irene, Maria (Fidel) of Austin, Texas, Lydia Silva (Frank) of Kingsville, Texas, and Micaela Adriano (Philip), as well as her stepsister, Esther Blanco, all of whom reside in Corpus Christi, Texas. Elena was greeted in heaven by her beloved husband, Luis "La Mula" Trevino, and her children Esperanza, Johnny, Jose, and Crecencio Trevino. Her journey to the afterlife was also preceded by the passing of her parents and her siblings, Alex, Enriquez, and Sandy Urtado. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her 33 grandchildren, along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, who will carry on her legacy of love and laughter.
Known for her love of watching movies and novellas, Elena found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid collector of China porcelain dolls, a hobby that reflected her appreciation for beauty and craftsmanship. Her home was filled with the cheerful chirping of her beloved cockatiels, and the pitter-patter of her dogs, Chiquita, and Baby, who were her constant companions. Elena's sense of humor and generous spirit brought light and warmth to every room she entered. Her legacy is one of unwavering kindness and the capacity to find joy in life's moments, both big and small.
Elena Urtado Trevino's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of devotion, humor, and generosity. She will be remembered lovingly and missed greatly by all of us. Her spirit, a guiding light of compassion and joy, will continue to inspire those she left behind.
