Eliberto P. Bert Benavides

Eliberto P. Benavides, age 67 and known to most as Bert, was born on November 6, 1952 and passed away on April 7, 2020 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Raul P. Benavides, and mother, Santos P. Benavides.

Bert, a 1972 graduate of Foy H. Moody High School, was well known in Corpus Christi as a mechanic and the shop owner of Bert’s Garage; which he ran for over 50 years. He lived his life to the fullest, enjoying the simple pleasures of fishing and working on his classic cars. He loved spending time with his family and friends making memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. He will also be missed by his beloved dog and best friend, Zillo, who never left his side.

He is survived by his two daughters, Michelle Benavides (Freddie Garcia) and Melissa B. Rodriguez (Valerie Rodriguez); two brothers, Raul Benavides Jr. and Roy C. Benavides; three sisters, Rosario Garcia (Pete), Maggie Gonzalez (Manuel), and Araceli Ernest (Chester); and seven grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.
