Elisa V. Garcia

Elisa V. Garcia passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the age of 93. She worked for the Nueces County Courthouse, Birth Right, The Kidney Foundation, and The South Texas Food Bank. Elisa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be truly missed by all who loved her.

She is preceded in death parents, Nicolas and Isabel Vasquez; grandson, Albert Gaytan; sisters, Juanita Soliz, Aurelia Gonzalez, Maria Guzman, and Beatrice Duque; brothers, Mike Vasquez, Estevan Vasquez, Jose Vasquez, and Jose A. Vasquez; son-in-law, Alvin J. Fernandez.

Elisa is survived by her husband of 73 years, Arnulfo C. Garcia; children, Eva (Richard) Gaytan, Isabel (Joe) Padilla, Irene (Juan) Rocha, Estella Berger, Carlos (Norma) Garcia, Gloria Fernandez, Maria A. (Henry P. Flores) Cardona, Michael (Julie Flores) Garcia, Christina (Brandon) Drake; 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. at Port from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., where a vigil for the deceased and holy rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Chapel Service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Trevino Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Interment and Committal will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Serving as Pall Bearers are her grandsons, Edward Gaytan, Charlie Garcia, Bryan Lopez, Roger Rocha, Carlos Cardona, III., and Jeffery Berger; Honorary Pall Bearers, Gabriel Garcia, Dwayne Young, Jr., Christian Drake, Braedan Drake, Michael Garcia, Andres Lopez, and Evan Berger.
