Elvira Ruiz Arellano

Elvira Ruiz Arellano, age 89, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2011. She is preceded in death by her husband Ignacio Garza Arellano; sisters, Santos Arevalo, Julia Gonzalez; brothers, Pablo Ruiz, Alberto Ruiz, and Juan Ruiz. Elvira leaves behind her loving children, Irene (Mario) Soto, Mary (Ramiro) Perez, Janice Smoot and Ignacio Arellano; sister, Mary Jane Martinez; brother, Luis Ruiz, Fidencio Ruiz and Manuel Chica; grandsons, Albert B. Mendez Jr., Steven A. Perez and Jake Smoot; granddaughter, Lorie Perez; 2 great-grandchildren. The family will be receiving friends at Trevino Funeral Home 3006 Niagara at Port, on Sunday, December 18, 2011 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm. Rites of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 10:00 am; interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
